South Carolina is one of the fastest growing states in the country but we have to make sure our rural communities don’t vanish, taking local jobs, schools and local healthcare away. Did you know we lose approximately 35 acres of farmland a day due to development? Gilda has worked tirelessly with both Democrats and Republicans to keep local jobs local. She’s an outspoken advocate for workforce development programs that affect every aspect of the Orangeburg community. Gilda’s work with Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College ensures local businesses have the right students for the right jobs. By focusing on increasing local jobs and improving local education, we can keep Orangeburg families close to home.
- Equal Rights Amendment
Gilda Cobb-Hunter supports the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) which states that the rights guaranteed by the Constitution apply equally to all persons regardless of their sex. - Affordable Healthcare
Ensuring that South Carolinians receive quality health services is of the highest priority to Rep. Gilda Cobb-Hunter. She is an outspoken proponent for accessible and affordable healthcare. - Better State Employee Pay
